Fourth Year had been a tough journey. Better hopes for Final Year

Hi, I am back from Kelantan (or so, Kelantan-Pahang-KL-Pen) and about 1 week more before entering the final year. I am not ready. But I have to be. Not sure if I will be sharing on what 4th-year dentistry is all about-- because the drill is the same, every day you dragged your ass to class by 8.15 for an hour of lecture and 9am-5pm (and usually 6pm) will be a clinic and treating your patient. It's tough because this year is not as honey-moon as 3rd year because there are more patients to manage and many new skills to master immediately -- Endodontics, Fix Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, etc. This year's been tough. Tougher. Wasn't pretty, because of all the hiccups along the way. But I am glad I am not alone. Thanks to those who encouraged me--my family, best friends, batchmates and lecturers and many more that I finally made it up till this point. You cannot imagine how many times I feel like a complete failure and incompetent. Especially when I am Chinese, I tend to fee...

Ranting.

Nope, this is not another 3rd-year dentistry post, yet. I was just signing in to write and free my mind, while I still know what I am thinking. But first, a quick update on Malaysia, I voted for the first time on 9th May 2018 in GE14 Malaysia. And surprisingly, for the first time in 61 years, Barisan Nasional has fallen and Pakatan Harapan won and formed a new Government, with Tun Dr Mahatir, as our 7th Prime Minister. So yes, I have grown up in the era when Tun was in BN, and now, after 15 years,  Tun in PH. A new Malaysia has been reborn and now let's hope and pray for the best. Back to what I plan to write. So much has happened in my third year of university, and what is as hard as getting a degree? It's handling humans. When I say humans, it also includes me. Human, and still as flawed as can be. My circle of friends have changed immensely this year. It was really tough not to feel alone or trying not to. Mostly, it was tough because I have to accept the change. We g...

Second Year Dentistry at USM

Image
Back from the dead--kind of. I am happy to announce that I have successfully completed my Second Year of Dentistry in USM Kelantan. It was a hard and long fought journey and I am glad I finally made it till the end. So, before this, I promised that I would write about my experience in the second year. Here goes the blast of tons of pictures. I apologize if there's too many, but there are just too many. Haha! Moving on to Second Year with Everybody  It's honestly the best present you can have every year. Which also means you get to spend another year with your comrades and go through everything together as one. Friends play a really important role especially in the second year, it is a year will you will find that you sometimes need some pillars of strength that keeps you sane and keeps you moving forward. Syllabus As you start the 2nd year, there will be many new subjects that will be introduced to you.  But this does not mean it is still 90% Theory and 10% Practical...
